I took a ride to a local electronic store and as i was looking at the cb's, they had a uniden Grant LT!! They were selling them for $199.99. From what i could see he had about 2-3 in stock...how could this be? They were also selling the Big stick antenna... |

Simple - old stock. There's an electronic store in my town that has been around since the 60's. The still have all kinds of odd CB stuff from the 70's that they haven't sold yet.
There is a TV repair shop near where I live that has all kinds of cool old scanner antennas that haven't been made for decades.
Unfortunately they don't have any old radios. Although I saw a Superadio 2 at the TV shop 5 years ago but I didn't know what it was or I'd have bought it. |

At $199.99 a copy those Grant LTs must be gold plated, the last of the Grant XLs were on sellout at several outlets anywhere from $119.00 to $139.00 Those Grant LTs are old stock and this guy knows what he has, at the present time new in box, that's not a really bad price for one of the best sideband mobiles ever made, I have it's older brother the Grant XL. |

I just bought a brand new Grant LT brand new in the box for $110 from an internet auction site a couple days ago. I was suprised they were still available for $200. |

I just bought two of the Grant LTs, new-in-the-box for $180.00 each, delivered. I know that this seems like a lot of money for LTs, but since Uniden isn't making sideband mobiles anymore, I consider it an investment in my enjoyment of the CB hobby for many years to come.
Just remember, after all, a Cobra 2000 was basically the same unit in a nice case with a frequency counter and power supply. So was the Madison. Y'all know what those radios go for used...

I might just buy a couple of them from Copper if I find out the quality is comparable to the old ones that had Uniden boards. However, the jury is still out on that.... Reviews, anyone? |
