I got the radio today.I have not hooked it up yet. I opened the box, unpacked the radio and started stressing. It appeared to me that the radio had not been tuned and etc.etc. It was so nicely packed in the box with wrapping, it just looked like noone touched it. I don't know how they got it out of the plastic without tearing it like I did. So I called customer service and the lady asked me to look at the radio on the side and see if it had silver sticker on it andit did. She said if it has that sticker it's been done, she said just hook it up and start talking. I was relieved, I hate sending stuff back. It a very nice looking radio, can't wait to start using it, butit will probably be a couple of days. I forgot that I need to run some more grounds on my jeep, they will be underneath the jeep so that will be fun with my screwed up back.

Over,
Wildrat

You know guys, from what I've seen in the pictures of the S-9S-9S-9, Just couldn't stop myself from doing that.
I have an idea that eventhough it's only 12 volt and in a mobile case, the intention was for it to be mainly used as a super base radio, and from all the reports I've read on it, seems like it does make a super base radio.

Yankee,

Sorry but No it was never meant to be a base radio.

I even asked Sam if he could/would use the board in a base like the S-3200B and he said no thanks.

But when the 175+ watt S-9 comes out next year
I WANT ONE!

Well,I was finally able to mount my S9 today. I still need to wire it in, but at least it's in the jeep now. I still need to replace the diode in the 3900, so i can see if I'm going to have to stop at that shop Starface told me about on my way to Cocoa Beach. Starface if you see this how about giving me those dierecshoons again. I mean directions. It would be nice if ya'll were around here, then I could con a couple of you in to helping my old middle=aged decrepid hide running a bigger wire to my radio. Oh well, guess I'll get it donr one of these days. You know it's pretty bad when the only contact you have with people is thru a piece of wire.

See Ya'll,
Wildrat
