Has anyone ever used a 102" steel whip on a tri magnet mount? I wonder how this would work.
Any comments?

I think Pat00 runs that kind of setup on a Dakota.

not a 102" whip, but i've used a wilson 2000 & astatic 3k among others, & currently run a predator 10k. tried hooking up a 102" steel whip for an antenna test last winter & swrs on it were 3+. still not sure what that was all about.

i don't like the 'pro-am' version of the triple mag, not even sure who makes mine, but it's called a 'maxi-mount' where i got it from. tossed the ball mount with SO239 connector on it in favor of a predator lug-type mount. my swrs DO NOT move over 80 channels, & 26-28 is WAY under 2:1. they do NOT fluctuate with movement of the vehicle at any speed, when it hits branches, nor when i hit low bridges & knock the mount over. stand it back up & swrs are STILL perfect.

yes, i'm running power, & know of another running CONSIDERABLY more on the same vehicle with the same mount setup.
