I ran a marine grade 8ga. wire to a aux. fuse panel. I was planning on running my TS DX-500, and S9 off of this panel. Do you all think this wire is big enough or should I run a 4ga.welding wire to the panel? Will the 8ga. ground wire be big enough?

I would not recommend using the fuse panel to power your amp. It would probably be ok to power your radio via the fuse panel, but I would go to the battery with both just to be sure you get all the current you need. 8ga. wire should be ok, but I would not go any smaller. 6ga. wire will certainly be sufficient.. I think your amp will draw around 45 amps and the s9, about 7 amps. Try to keep your positive wire from the battery as short as possible (run it neatly, but cut off any that you don’t need). Your negative wire can be grounded to the frame (keep this wire as short as possible, but neat) You may even want to run a ground wire from the case of your amp to the frame. The s9 and the Texas Star 500 should be a great combination. I hope this helps.

Thank You,
I guess if I feel up to it, I'll go ahead and run another wire for the amp. As far as grounds, I already have everything grounded, engine, alt., body, frame, radio, amp, antenna mount, door, etc. I am going to try and finish putting my winch on. All CB'RS need a winch so they can haul there di-pole up a tree when they are broke down.
