I have a question about a cobra 148 gtl F I bought from an old guy the other day.The radio works fine and all but the speaker inside the radio won't work i have to plug in an external speaker to hear anything.I took the cover off and the wires are connected to the speaker so what could it be?thanks any info will help.

either bad speaker or ext speaker jack has corrosion on its terminals

took a radio out of a boat recently, same problem, like 291 said, but speaker jack was SO RUSTED it needed to be replaced. radio worked fine. try wiggling a speaker plug in & out & see if it starts to work...

ok i dont see anything wrong with the ext jack so ill try another speaker on it and see what it does

you were right the speaker is no good.where can i get a speaker with the 4 screws like it to replace it?

ON RADIO,S I USE EXTERNAL SPEAKERS ON , SOMETIME WHEN I UNPLUG EXTERNAL , RADIO SPEAKER DOESN,T WORK .UAUALLY IF I PLUG EXTERNAL IN AND OUT A COUPLE TIMES IT WORKS.

Radio fixed took speaker off another radio.
