Hey guys, Sunday we went down to the local flea market in town thats open every weekend. I go every now and then for something to do, plus you never know what you'll find. Well, today one of the booths had a few CB's sitting there, but one in particular caught my eye. A Cobra 148 GTL. I asked the guy what he wanted. He said he didn't know if it worked, he couldn't get it to do nothing although he said it did power up. I said "good enough for me, how much". He said, get this now.... $10.00.... I said "SOLD", and guess what, IT WORKS. Missing one knob, and someone added a talk back and the meter dont seem to work, but it does receive and it does transmit. I haven't had time to completly check it out. I think I got a heck of a deal.

Now, does anyone have a spare knob for a Cobra 148 GTL?

Hey Mike, It's missing the Dynamike knob, not a real big deal that its missing, and I can probably find one off something else that will work ok, but I'm kind of picky on cosmetics..
It may very well become my favorite radio for mobile use. thinking about using it to replace my TRC-453, which has been a good radio and I'll keep for a spare.
I've had a little time to half check it out. There seems to be something loose somewhere. The audio kinda goes quiet every now and then and if I tap on the radio it comes back.. hummmmm... it also looks as if at one time someone did a channel mod on it and removed it. (three holes in the bottom of the radio that are covered with tape or something from the inside gave it away)
I bet its just a loose wire, and I'll find out soon as I get the chance to open it up and have a look-see.

Thanks for the offer Mike. I bet Pat00 has a bunch of these lay'n around.
