I am wondering if it is possible to add a frequency counter to this radio, and I don't mean an inline counter that only reads on transmit. I would like to hard wire one in so I can check my frequency on both TX and RX. What would be a good meter to do this with and how is it wired in. I would like a good 7 digit meter. Thanks in advance everyone.

you sure can, i have a fc -390 on my 148 and it works great.

Thats kinda what i was thinking, Hotwire, if I find some good wiring diagrams or anything I will post them on here. I would just like to know where my radio is at on frequency cause just to hear 90% or people on sideband I have to have my clarifier slid way down, that and I could actaully monitor some of the frequency changes as it happens. |

sorry it took so long to post, but Pat is right also if you get the fc 390 counter you'll have to install a jumping in it for it to read the right freq, i have the pics if you need them , just pm me your email and i'll send them
