Iam going to put up a Imax 2000 with a gpk on a sixty foot tower, and i was wondering what Tech808 or anyone else that would like to reply, thinks about what length of a stinger out of the tower I should use? Should I try to keep the gpk above the tower or will it perform the same if the radials hang below the tower? Also I hear different stories about how high I should go.Should I stay within the wave lengths like 36, 72, and not go above 72ft total length, or will the higher I go the better the antenna will perform. I always thought higher is better but I would like to know your opinions. One more question, I already have a tower up with a moonraker Iv on it, how far away do i need to be with this antenna tower? could being to close cause swr problems? Thanks again for allowing me to use this forum, it's a great form of information.

I always heard if you get above the 36' mark that was good and anything higher just makes it better, now I read on this forum that if your I-Max is above a certain heigth that the GPK does not make much of a difference in the signal, but we will leave that to the more learned.

my Imax 2000 is on a 1 foot mast coming out of my tower, my tower is 40 foot up and the GPK hangs over the tower (Although I rasied the GPK to 30° as told by the tech's here and the TX&RX seem to work better)
But either way the GPK will work hanging below or above the tower.

Till next time

Thanks for all the info on the Imax 2000, I would like to know more about the GPK being raised.I undestand that Tech 808 did this mod to the GPK, if you could maybe drop me a email and explain that to me. I really want to get the best performance i can out of this antenna.
Thanks again to all for your help

Just bend the tabs on the mounting bracket up to a 30 degree angle, takes about 3-5 minutes if using a vise. Mine were already at about a 25 degree angle so it did not take much.
