I would put it right at the antenna feed ( radio end of coax after amp ) so you could show power out and swr at the amp output.

output from radio to input of amp..... output from amp to input on meter... hook up antenna to the output of the meter... remember to always use jumpers in 3 foot increments.3 foot, 6 foot etc... After you have this all hooked up, with the linear turned off your swr's should be 1.3 or lower or you may blow a pill. Once you find your swr reading, remember it... When you turn the amp on recalibrate your swr meter.... The swr's will read HIGHER, but it is a false reading.... When you talk and swing, the swr needle should swing down back to the original swr reading I told you to remember

Danta, Are you talking about the internal swr meter? Its best to avoid those and use external meters.Internals are know to be inacurate. Since it is there I do like to compare the 2 reading but usually the external shows lower.

You don't. It is illegal to run an external amplifier on CB.

If you are talking about an amateur radio installation, then it goes Ham Radio > Amplifier > SWR meter > Antenna
Your radio 'Mythbuster' since 1998
