THE BOOMER 600 AMP I HAVE AFTER IT GETS WARMS, WILL START NOT TO UNKEY. THE RED TX LIGHT ON THE AMP STAYS ON AND THE RECEIVE ON MY RADIO IS NOT WORKING. I CAN TURN THE AMP OFF AND BACK ON AND IT UNKEYS, WORKS FINE UNTIL I KEY THE MIKE AGAIN, UNLESS IT HAS HAD TIME TO COOL DOWN THEN IT WILL WORK FINE UNTIL IT GETS WARM AGAIN. THIS ALWAYS HAPPEN WHEN THE AMP HAS WARMED UP AFTER BEING USED TO TRANSMIT. I DONE NO MOD TO THE AMP IT'S JUST LIKE IT CAME OUT OF THE BOX. MY RADIO IS A SUPERSTAR 3900 DEAD KEYING 3 WATTS. SWR WITH AMP ON IS 2.0 - WITH AMP OFF IT'S 1.3 ANT IS A WILSON 5000. I'VE SWITCH MY JUMPERS FROM ANOTHER TRUCK AND GET THE SAME PROBLEM. THE OTHER TRUCK WORKS FINE WITH MY JUMPERS.

THANK YOU!

I would suggest checking the keying transistor and maybe the relay. You should also check any cap's or resistors running to and maybe from the keying transistor.

It's probably a transistor fairly small with maybe a 4401 part number on it.

I am NOT a tech, but I work on all my junk and other's as well. This is where I've always started, and usually it cures the problem.

Otherwise, I offer you the advice I was recently offered...carry it to a Tech who knows what he's doing...
