any mods to get more am watts? presently keying 6, forward to 19 on am. where is limiter? tr 24,32,41, or what? swings 36 on ssb.mrf 477 final
OR SHOULD I LEAVE WELL ENOUGH ALONE?

I think I'd leave well enough alone. It sounds like its doing pretty good barefoot the way it is. Don't want to stress that old of a radio anymore than it's already being stressed. If the conditions are right, you won't need any more than what it has.
Sound's like a good ole radio. Post a pic in the picture section if ya can. I love boat anchor radios.

Oops,  I thought it said Black face "Johnson"  I'm must be loose'n what little mind I have left.
Nevermind, it must be the medication and fact I need my eye checked. (yes, eye, I'm already legally blind in one)

I wouldn't clip the mod limiter in any radio! Then what you've got is a "splatter box". If the numbers you are seeing are satisfactory and you want a little more audio,add a power mic.

this particular jackson has an rci (2950) type mic plug. Imagine that!!!!
