Contact them anyway and see if you'll get someone on the phone or email that very nice and willing to help you out. I'd have it happen more than once.

OR check the output transistors.

Beeker7104,

Sorry, but the Copper Tech does not do Factory Warranty work or outside repair work on radios.

He will need to contact Cobra direct or find a Tech near him to hopefully fix it.

Why not just call Cobra tell them you lost your receipt if they even ask. How new is the radio? Did it work before you got it? Did you open the case already? It may have been tuned by a quality tech already maybe do you know? Might be time to buy a real new radio.

'it has been converted and opened!'-can't hurt to call & ask. they KNEW it was gonna be opened & converted, or else they wouldn't have built it that way...

i bet you will find them extreamly helpfull mainly because they have been having lots of problems with these radios dumping the final driver and the rf regulator/modulators. i have also found a problem with the pre amp/buffer go/no-go switch dumping off with more output than 135 watts peak on high for prolonged periods of time.

fyi the 30 w final is not what we call a "pill", the two round white things are what we call a "pill"
