A ham friend of mine said he heard that if the 2980 WX was converted to 11 meters, the weather portion would interfer with the conversion. Any one know what he was talking about? |

But if you run an amp or TVI filter, it is possible that the WX freq's will not work. |

The only tvi filter I have ever used starts cutting off at 30 MHz and it doesn't matter which end is input or output, it filters the signal going into the radio and the signal comming out. The weather band is around 160 MHz. I don't know if all filters are the same as mine, but if they are you can't listen to the weather band through it unless the transmitter is next door. |
