mic has a hum in it...not bad, but noticable
it goes away when i touch the case of the radio...assuming its a mic problem because this is the only mic that does that, but i dont know, perhaps the shield came off the plug???
low battery maybe?

Base or mobile? Using an amplifier?

Sure sounds like RF getting into your microphone to me. When you touch the radio's case the RF gets grounded.

it works fin with any other mic...even my silver eagle...no problems only my 452

Do not "ground" the transceiver. That would, maybe, just mask the problem. Is the antenna a reasonable distance from the transceiver? More likely...is there rf on the outside of your feedline's shield (assuming coax)?
