To all who answered my plea for help (Please help with my new setup), THANK YOU.

Equipment:

Radio
Galaxy 99 purchased from an online seller, with their $30.00 mod. Checked everything out on the Yaesu meter, and it didn't seem quite up to these boards specs. Reading this and other boards I got some guts, and opened up the case, and did the following:

VR14 - Full tilt.
VR13 - 8 watts dead key, tried for 10 but could only get 8.
VR16 - 2 watts dead key.
VR12 - Turned up full tilt.

Got these numbers from one of these boards, and they seem to be working fine.

That's it, don't know how to do anything else, and don't feel confident enough to try yet.

Amp
First Texas Star 667V amp purchased from an online seller, dead on arrival (sent back to Factory for repairs told 6 to 8 weeks wait).

Second Texas Star 667V amp (Just couldn't wait the 6 or 8 weeks for the first amps repair) purchased from another online seller, here and working now.

RK 56 microphone

Wilson 5000 mag mount.

Yaesu YS-60 SWR & power meter.

Monster Cable 1000 watt stereo amp install kit (yes I know to much money, but had almost everything needed to install this amp. 4ga. wire, 8 ga. wire, terminal blocks, Fuse holder, and a 60 amp fuse since changed to 80 amp. Haven't found 100 amp yet, but looking).

Now here are some results:

SWR before install was 1.1.1 on ch1 - ch20 - ch40
SWR after install through the amp, but off was the same 1.1.1 on same channels.
SWR with amp on jumped to 1.5 on ch1 - ch20 and 1.6 on ch40. According to Wilson and EEI, this is fine, but some on these boards think this is to much, I need advise here.

Now for the power:

Amp off, dead key at 2 watts, swing to 30 or 35 PEP with modulation, not whistling.
Amp on, dead key 325 watts, swing to 700 watts PEP.

Now I know that this amp is only supposed to put out 500 watts with a 4 watt dead key with the transistors that it has, and I'm at a 2 watt dead key, so am I living in a dream world here, or what???? Or did I just get lucky the first time out.

If this is for real, I'm totally happy here..

I'm not one of those who has to brag about power that I don't have, just want to tell the truth when asked.

I need feedback here, PLEASE....

See Ya,
John
