i was wondering if i took a 3 element beam and put it on a four element boom, would it increase the forward gain and increase the rejection on the back door.and if it did, about how much.(don't say get a four element beam)I'AM TRYING TO LOWER the weight factor if i can thanks 505

The modern day M103 has already been optimized somewhat, so what you suggest may have already been done to the extent it can.

If you used the three elements to fully occupy the boom for a 4 element you might not have enough response with the elements due to the excessive spacing used. Effective spacing is noted to be within a specific range and this range has limits in both directions.
