They are still beingmade.I'm not sure if this helps but I bought my first one in the early - mid 80's.

the black faced ones are ok...but the silver faced ones are MUCH better, ither way, for the right price, great radio

The black faced Jacksons are still being made, I'm not sure where, probably in the Phillipines or Asia.They are still being sold in Europe.You won't have super-loud audio on AM like with a Galaxy but you will have an excellent SSB rig.

Im trying to figure out on this jackson the black faced one with bands a to f whats the highest and lowest frequencies in it.I dont really care about am i only talk on sideband anyway so thats cool.

I think the coverage should be:

26.065 thru 28.315 MHz

and you should have 226 Channels/Frequencies on AM/FM/LSB and USB.

If you look to the Left of the Forum here under Tools you wil see a Frequency Chart that should be of help.
