I have tried a number of PA Speakers and frankly none of them have impressed me at all. Seems everyone I get I have to back down the Mic Gain to almost nothing to prevent it from squealing even with long runs, improved wiring etc., etc.

Use these out in the woods and along the beach - needless to say at the beach things are noisy with the waves crashing etc. and sometimes we have 1000 yards of beach we are working with. Right now our only option is to use an air horn.

I have also been told though that using a PA is illegal but frankly since many times police are in these shore fishing events I doubt they are going to stroll over, weigh in their catch and then issue me a ticket, not to mention they offered me the below but they are pricey at $60.00.

I am able to get some 100 watt concealed PA Speakers that are for detective or unmarked police cars.

Do you guys think one of these type will work or do you have any ideas?

Loudest is going to be specified in Sensitivity rating dB 1W/1M. We don't have much power to deal with so the first watt really counts here.

You could outfit your vehicle to look like the BluesMobile from the Blues Brothers :-)

Thanks Tech808 - I take it that means they will work then, that is what I needed to know.

I am now working on trying to get one from a decommissioned car before it goes up for sale. Nothing is better than free stuff but only if it works....

Seriously their is a guy here in town that has a big ol speaker like that mounted to his little compact car along with a huge wooden cross. He is always in trouble for preaching in the Parking Lots (like Wal-Mart & such). He keeps coming back though so guess he isn't getting into to much trouble. I will have to take a picture and post it, the cross and speaker are as big as his car, well, almost....

i would like to see that!

tim, are these speakers that you are looking at amplified?
if not, then the 100 watt rating is a maximum input.
i agree with chad, get the one with the highest sensitivity level.
