Is it necessary to have a matched set of transistors if say one burnt out. Would you only replace the bad one not all of them? Or would you replace all with a matched pair, quad etc.

as long as they are the SAME like 2sc1446's they should work but say a 2n6064 and a 2sc1446 as the 2 finals no not likely.
