The radio puchased from copper on 10/22/01, was working fine, but now it won't key up. I key the mike, the on air light comes on, no swing, if I key when recieving signal, the meter needle swings to the left, and wont swing or key up to the right, no modulation. Your opinion before i return it to copper to be repaired. Thanks Rosco, Indiana.

sounds like you pulled the mike to hard or something of that nature. try another mike and make sure its not on the "pa" setting if it has it on your model !! did this with my rci 2980 and it had me baffelled for a week why it wouldnt talk!!! if not might be just a cold solder joint on the voltage regulator or driver. hey good luck keep us informed

Thanks for input guys, one last question:

I adjusted the AM power to full output by turning it clockwise (the right) but when adjusting the SSB and speaking a steady "Audio" into the mic I couldn't see the power reading on my meter increase or decrease as I adjusted the SSB.
So I guess my question to you is: If the AM power was increased by turning clockwise would it be logical to assume the by turning the SSB
clockwise I am also increasing power?

I feel a little silly even asking but I've never run accross this problem before.
