how could i by-pass the am regulator on this chassis, id like to put 13.8 volts on instead of 6...also, should any other parts be swaped for larger ones upon doing this, also, the big reason im doing this is because my am reg. failed, and i have had no luck finding a replacement...or should i just wait for a replacement to pop up, cuz if doing so will ruin a good radio, id rather wait

goat, if you are referring to the TO-220 transistor next to the audio IC, you can replace it with an NTE152 or an NTE291. both parts are readily available.
if the original was a 2SC1419, go with the NTE152.
if it was a 2SD1135, go with the NTE291.
they are all interchangeable, but those are the cross referrences.
