I PURCHASED A LINCOLN FROM COPPER THIS PAST NOVEMBER. I LIKE THE RADIO HOWEVER RECENTLY WITH POWER GOING TO THE RADIO BUT THE RADIO IS OFF, IT HAS KEYED UP AND STAYED IN THE TRANSMITT MODE UNTIL I AM FORCED TO DISCONNECT THE POWER FROM IT. I DISCOVERED THIS WHEN I WAS USING ANOTHER RADIO ON ANOTHER ANTENNA AND NOTICED MY RECEIVE WAS BEING DOWN PINNED AND BY CHANCE TURNED THE LINCOLN ON ONLY TO DISCOVER THAT IT WAS STUCK IN THE TRANSMIT MODE. IS THE PROBLEM IN THE MIKE OR IN THE RADIO? SEEMS IF IT WAS IN THE MIKE, THE RADIO WOULD HAVE HAD TO BE TURNED ON ALSO.

I have not since the problem does not happen all the time. It is a good suggestion but I was hoping that a tech might answer the question I posed as to whether it could be the mic if the radio was off but with power still going to it.

You would think with the radio OFF, nothing would happen. I think he's right, sounds like a ghost to me! Honest Abe must be try'n to give another Gettysburg Address.

Seems I may have the "Weird Dead Key" problem. I may be contributing to this problem by transmitting on another transceiver whose antenna is less than 15 feet from the Lincoln's antenna even though it is off but still has the power going to it.

I am reluctant about doing the modification while the radio is still under warranty and still has that factory foil seal on the chassis cover that states if it is broken the warranty is void.

Maybe I will ask Copper if under warranty they will do the modification.
