Thinking of getting one of these Bazooka Dipoles for grins and giggles. How well do they perform? I have an IMAX 2000 50' up at the feed point, will the dipole outperform it, if set up as an omni? Can I string it along the roof line as a horizontal and switch between it and the IMAX for both horizontal and vertical use? Thanks for any input.

That would seem to be a better setup to me. It would probably be difficult to get the dipole in a real vertical position as high as you have your Imax. Don't expect the dipole to do as well horizontally to vertical stations around you as does the Imax. On the other hand you may experience some improvement with DX over the Imax at times, just depends on the conditions at any particular point in time. Right now is not a real good time for good DX in 11 meters.
