i have a new 55v and i see where r 249 was cut at th efactory ????? why is this

Audio limiter. If it was just cut you can solder it back. Some techs just remove it. Are you sure it's fresh from the factory or did you have a peak and tweak from the dealer who sold it to you? The limiter keeps the radio from going past 100 percent modulation. Any more than 100% is garbage and if you run an amp you can really tell. Removing it does not help you get out farther. In my opinion I have never heard a radio that sounded right clipped and I would put it back pronto! If your happy with it then hey leave it be. Some of the other members can explain the importance of the limiter better than I. All I know is I want mine enabled!
