Hello,
I would like to find out how and when to order a 257 with the new transistors. I planned on ordering one in Feb. but found out they were getting the new mosfets and want to wait. However, I am getting anxious!

Znut,
I just called Sam (Magnum International) and the first samples of the MAGNUM 257's from the  Factory with 1969 Finals should arrive in the next 30 to 60 days.
The First Batch will NOT have the Mosfet ERF-2030 finals in them.
However Sam said when they arrive they pull a few and do a ERF-2030 conversion to test things out so hopefully the 2nd batch they order will have the new ERF-2030 MOSFET Finals in them.
I will keep the Copper Forum members informed as to when they arrive and are ready to be shipped.

Thanks! I hope I can wait to see what happens. I'm getting anxious!
Maybe I can figure out how to put those erf-2030's in my Euro 3900 (driver+final) I got from Copper years ago and that will distract me for awhile - LOL.
Also, I hope you and your Mrs. are doing well, I've been thinking about you.

So they won't ship any of the 1969 final radios when they get them?
I would love to get another 257 like the one I got from Copper last year, with the blue display and 1969. Guess I am out of luck, huh? |

NO you are not out of luck.
And YES They will ship them and Copper WILL have them with the 1969 finals as they will ONLY pull a few from the First shipment from the new factory to do/test the ERF-2030 conversion.

I am keeping my eye on the website for when Copper gets them in. The blue display Magnum 257 looks great in my '96 Impala SS

--I have just discovered the Magnum 257, and if they indeed have the new ERF-2030 finals in them, I will buy one. The Magnum line of radios seem to be a good deal overall. I have a friend that owns an S-3 and sounds just great! |
