I got my radio back from having warranty work done. Since the radio does not have the Copper seal on it anymore I decided to take the cover off and look at the board. On the circuit side I saw where a piece of copper foil was soldered to the board with small standoffs and they had some foam tape under the foil to prevent contact with the board. It was done after the radio was built because it's an ugly job/mod whoever did it. The foil is about 3 X 5 inches in size. Anyone know what this may be for?

Wildrat,

If anything was added or modified in your radio it may have been added / modified when you sent it in for warranty repair work to **** ** as you stated in your other post.

Sorry but I have no idea what it could be.

I was thinking it was something for interference or something. I don't know when it was done. I figured it was done after manufacturing, not at **** **. I have seen where they do things like this with wire jumpers on the board where a trace was bad but this just looks kinda funky. Maybe someone else that has cracked their radio open has seen this foil and may know more about it.

Wankle,

The Copper Warranty Seal is NOT placed Inside the radio it is placed on the Outside of the radio over both the Top and Bottom case covers.

And the Copper Warranty Seal is ONLY placed on a Radio if you pay for the Copper Tech to do the Expand, align and tune: OPTION

The Copper Tech does not Clip or Remove or Add any components and he will make NO adjustments that would Void anyones Factory Warranty.
