I went to Radio Shack to pick up a 10 foot antenna mast. It's two in the afternoon. I walk in and there are three employees talking, no customers. They jump on me asking what they can help me with. I tell them my needs. One says "Do you want a telescopic mast?" I tell them I'm making an outdoor directional dipole, the ten foot mast will be fine. The same guy says "We have an Archer, Super Mast, High Carbon steel 36 foot Telescoping, 4 section Mast complete with four guy rings that I can let you have for three dollars". He told me HQ said to get rid of them.
You may want to stop in at your local RS and ask if they have one. If interested, the stock number is 15-5067. It's about 11 feet long and 25-30 pounds.
Oh, and yes they did try to sell me a cell phone. |

I work at Radio Shack, and I have none. And it looks like I can't get any. Maybe a few phone calls are needed. |

Whoa! I'll be stopping by an RS ASAP! although most the ones around here I've seen are new stores and probably don't have them.. 
But I'll take the chance... $3 for a new telescopic mast! man.. did you walk in on a deal or what!? |

The only place i was able to find a telescoping mast around here was Lowes...they have both the 20' and 30 '....I will be buying one just in case i need it as they are hard to find. I may end up putting the 2 meter beam on it. |

I called my local radio shack and gave them all information, and they looked on computer and said it did not exist.

I called my local one this morning and he said it showed up on his computer, but was discontinued..He said he would check the back room for me, because he remembered seeing one this week, but when he looked someone had already been in and swiped it...shouldn't have delayed calling...live and learn...BTW his wording to me when he was going to check for it was..I would be happy to donate it to you..WOW.. sad am I |

Keith, It won't exist in the computer if it's discontinued and they have none in stock. I ran into the same thing around here. Not a one left to be found.

I found four(4)36 ft telescoping mast today at RS.But these cost $20 each (best price).Not bad I guess, down from $70 each.Only needed 2. Still cheaper than Lowes 30 ft at $45 each. May sell 2. |
