I had a radio with the same problem one time. I'm trying so hard to remember the fix. I would check coax and antenna first. Check for cold solder joints. When you got inside its possible the cold solder joint got worse or you loosened something by mistake. When you key the mic its kinda like kicking in the recieve. Like a jump start! Check for debris in your mic plug and broken solder connections. I bet you will find something up with the coax. Also are you running an amp? You raised the dead key so maybe the amp didnt like that? Try removing the amp and see what you get. If I remember the solution to my radio I had I will post it. good luck! 73
