MY GALAXY SATURN TURBO HAS NEVER BEEN RIGHT EVER ON SIDEBAND. I brought it to a tech and he told me he didn't find anything wrong with it.but when I talk on sideband everyone tells me its all distorted sounding so I tried another mic still does it. One guy told me maybe it needs to be aligned but would that make my transmit distorted? I really cant seem to find anyone to fix it. what about copper would they fix it for me? |

Freebird, Sorry, but the Copper Tech does not do Radio Repairs. Check with local CBer's in your area and see who they would recommend. Hope this helps, Lon Tech808 CEF808 N9CEF CVC#2 |

How about the mic? If your overmodding then you would sound like poop on sideband. Noise cancelling mics work great on ssb..you want CLEAR modulation with as little as possible backround noise as possible. If you radio has been clipped and even if your running a stock mic try turning down the mic gain a little at a time to see if it clears up. Got variable power on that rig? (sorry..not familiar with the Saturn)...does it sound bad with or without a linear? OK off but bad ON? Visa-virsa? Sometimes the simplest thing like adjusting the modulation or input power makes all the difference. Good luck, Hank CEF559 |

The only Turbo I ever heard that sounded good on the air was owned by a retired audio engineer, and he was in that radio constantly touching it up. All the rest sound horribly overdriven on AM. With the exception of my friend, I don't recall ever hearing someone tell me that they're using one on SSB. |

is the modulation transistor removed? i think its TR32, but im not sure. if you remove it in attempting to make AM louder, you will cause distortion on SSB. sorry, you must put it back, and just turn up the VR pot for modulation. good luck, matt |
