my cobra 148 f has a meter problem.the meter will stay down on zero untill I turn the radio to sideband and whistle then i turn it back to am and it fine then after a half hour its stuck on zero again.should i just put a new meter in?if so where so i buy one ?thanks

Sounds to me like it sticking. Those meters are so common I bet you can find an old radio for parts and just swap it out. Maybe if you left it on a busy channel like 19 for a while it would break loose. Just an idea? Might work. Replacing it should be pretty easy though. good luck and 73 freebird!
