I am thinking about putting an aluminum rack on top of the Jeep. I have a Monkey Made on a pole mounted to the rear tire carrier. The coils on the Monkey made are around 14 inches from the bottom of the antenna. The pole is about three inches above the soft top of the Jeep. The rack will be about 4-6 inches from the antenna shaft. How much if any will this affect the SWR?

Thanks!

I don't think it would hurt at all. Since you have a soft top any extra counterpoise should be an improvement. I think I understand what your doing. Putting like a luggage rack on the top? A pic will speak a thousand words.

Well Hot wire I have to get some stainless bent, welded, and cut to support the rack. My wife bought the rack for her Jeep Liberty, which we got rid of after having it for about a month. It can't tow anything bigger than a baby stroller. So we have this new aluminum rack sitting around. I just refuse to pay the ridiculous amount of money they want for the kit to install it on a Wrangler. I'll have pics when it gets installed.
