I recently installed a TUG8 on my President Madison (5-pin 8719 chassis). I used wiring info I found here, and I've confirmed thru another source that it is indeed the correct wiring. Transmit works fine, but I have a problem with a receive squeal. It only appears after a few minutes. If I key the mic it goes away, but reappears after a couple of minutes. It will also go away if I open the squelch or if someone breaks the squelch. But after a couple of minutes it returns. I've even tried leaving the squelch open, but it still comes back if I have the volume control turned all the way down. The only way I can keep it away is to leave the squelch off and the volume turned down, but not all the way. Any ideas, folks?

Yaesujohn,

Double check to make sure it is wired as follow's:

PIN #1 ~ WHITE
PIN #2 ~ SHIELD
PIN #3 ~ RED
PIN #4 ~ N/C / OPEN
PIN #5 ~ N/C / OPEN
BLACK N/C
Electronic Switching

Also Double check to make sure there are no stray wires touching any of the other wires inside the base of the mic and in your 5 pin radio connector.

Hope this help's,
