Inside some mics like the CDL 56 noise canceling and the Wilson noise canceling mics I notice a little tiny transformer in the circuit. Inside mics like the Astatic noise canceling type I notice there is no tranformer at all. Why do some mics have a transformer and some do not? What is the transformer for ? What does it do? Louder audio? Better noise canceling?
