anybody see any problems putting 4 watt key swinging 16 into texas star modulator and leaving it on low to drive straight 4 pill |

no dont see no problems but i think a radio that has a pep of 16 watts should drive a 4 pill by itself just my 2 cents worth |

Dale is correct. Unless the 4 pill is a custom amp I would not do it.So many like running the V Mods into the 4 pill amps like the DX 500 and 400. The modulator is not going to get the 4 pill to do more watts more than just driving it with a radio. I would be afraid of burning up the 4 pill and is most likely not going to sound very clean. There might be a way to do it safely and sound good but I don't know what it would be. |

It's a xforce 400 4 pill amplifier. I tried powering it with my radio. 4 Watts in gives me about 80 out and maybe 200 swing. When I key into that texas star and the xforce see's about 20 watts dead key. It will key about 275 and swing from there. |

well ya might but i wouldnt put 20watts of drive inti it .turn the mod v down so it keys around 7-10 watts the swing shouldnt change that much ya dont want to try to get every last watt out of it |
