I've 'acquired' one of these radios.
It transmits perfect. The PA function works properly. There are no loose or bad connections anywhere that I can find.
I've tried receive on an antenna and with a signal generator. I can not hear anything. I've tried both internal and external speakers. I've tried several mics and grounded the receive pin to bypass the mic having to be plugged in.
This radio still won't receive and I'm stumped.
Any suggestions? Thanks. |

Well the weather band sections receives fine.
I don't really want to give it back. But I won't knock that out as an option.
I am sure there is something simple wrong. Anybody got a schematic for this radio? |

Try replacing D1 and D2 with 1n914 diodes.. they're right by each other... occasionally a strong station nearby will blow them and you'll lose all receive. If that doesn't work, it's time to start tracing that signal and find the component where it's being lost at. |

It does it whether it's on or off.
I'll try the diodes. Kinda hard to trace anything with my O'scope probe broken. Wonder if I could use a volt meter? |
