My baby is sqwealing and I hear a loud enging noise when I key down. I have a turbo echo in it with a single on/off control pot. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

First thing to do is re-ground that echo board. And if it keeps on, throw it away and buy another one. Been there - done that.

If it's a talkback squeal, get a noise cancelling mic and move the external farther away from you.

As for the engine noise, assuming it's alternator, get a filter for the power line or try moving the ground. Also try moving where you're drawing power from. If all else false, get the filter. Available at any autoparts store near the stereo stuff for a cheapy.
