I have been looking at getting a Voyager VR9000, I was looking before to get a General Lee as a friend of mine has one and says it swings 50W`s. I know the VR9000 is a dual final the same as the General Lee, is my buddy getting a false reading on his Lee or is there an extra mod that can get the big swing from the VR9000??? And does anyone know how to do the NPC-RC on the VR9000? |

i did mine and it works great,i have not done any tuneing on mine but it swings to 45watts |

General Lee is a better radio than the Vr9000.
General has an updated board based on a more stabler circuitry. General Lee has more audio on output. But A Lee only has AM/Fm and is more expensive than the VR9000's. |

If the Lee is only am/fm then it may have a class c final instead of class ab like ssb riggs.Greater possible output with less HEAT,the bane of all semiconductors. |

I've just tried my first General Lee, a friend had 'overextended' his credit and needed to sell a couple radios. The General was almost new, he had bought it and never run it in his truck. I'm really impressed with the radio, it has as much or more swing as my Galaxy 88 when doing the same keyup. The audio is excellent, nice receive. I really like the front mounted mike plug, and the talkback switch on the front panel. Looks like someone finally listened to the truck drivers. I think I will swap out the ranger in my car for this pretty little radio, it will fit better also without the mike cord sticking out the side. |
