i have an older galaxy dx77hml,it has been converted for use on 11m band... what frequencies are on what bands????
also can this radio be converted back to 10m??

On your Radio after Conversion:
BAND ~ A = 25.615 ~ 26.055
BAND ~ B = 26.065 ~ 26.505
BAND ~ C = 26.515 ~ 26.955
BAND ~ D = 26.965 ~ 27.405
BAND ~ E = 27.415 ~ 27.855
BAND ~ F = 27.865 ~ 28.305
If you look to the LEFT of the Forum here you will see:
Tools
Mic. Wiring
Frequency Chart
CB & Ham Lingo
Modification List
CLICK on Frequency Chart.
On the Frequency Chart you will have BAND's D thru I that is for your radio if you want to print the Frequency Chart.
And yes it can be converted back to straight 10 Meter.

The Galaxy 77 is probably not the best choice for 10 meter amateur... You'll quickly find you want something with a true VFO... If I were you I'd look for an old HTX-100 for to meter or even a HTX-10... They're actually pretty good radios for what they're designed for |

Being a 77 owner, I have to say that I love this radio and I think it's one of Galaxy's better radios.
However...
I have to agree with Bandit on this one. Recently on a local 2 meter repeater there was a discussion between a small group of guys. It was agreed by the fellas that no self respecting HAM would be caught dead talking 10 meters on a Galaxy. No true HAM radio has echo & reverb in it. No roger beeps. This is all taken from the conversation that I sat and listened to. I have to agree with them.
Plus why would or how could you even call it a true 10 meter radio without a freq counter? Yes, you can add it on, but that is just the point. It does have a clarifier, but it's nothing like a VFO.
If it's working and working well, leave it alone. Just use it for what it was actually intended for, a cb. Them marketing it as a 10 meter radio, well we all know what that's about. |
