OK I ordered the DX500V Ordered on Friday May 26 so it should arrive by Wednesday the 30 and was wondering what I should expect for performance. I will be driving it with a Yaesu FT-840. Anyone have any experience with this amp?

'wire-Ab9lx's Q asked about his ft840, which probably does 25AM or so, & 80+ PEP. too much at full power for the dx500v. BUT, probably adjustable enough to be usable. the dx500's design allows it to make max power over a very broad range of inputs. it is not a 'standard' low input amp, but will probably show the same output with 2 watts in or 10 watts in. PEP can vary BIG TIME from meter to meter, so Wally38 is getting good #'s, & while a stock cobra 29 would probably be able to show the same dead key, more or less, PEP probably won't be much less the Wally is getting with 40 PEP in.
