Looking for a place that does small orders of electronics parts other than #ouser, they messed up my first order. Need to upgrade the RX on my 142GTL, and put the limiter back in. Just need a few small parts, NTE, SK, whatever....
Thanks...

I just placed my 2nd order with mouser. NTE's and stuff.
Didn't they make the order right when they messed it up on you?

Placed order early last week, website accepted order just fine, picked Priority shipping. Was checking today to see what was taking so long, and could find no record of purchase. Got a fast e-mail reply stating that card was declined and that they e-mailed me twice. I replied that card is fine, why did site accept order then, and even if I made typo I always check my e-mail, and even checked my junk mail file in case it was misdirected and whats the chances of both things going wrong as I am not a newbie and order on-line daily? I got a read reply message back, but nothing further from them. So for a first order, (and even having mentioned it was my first order to them) I am not impressed, at the least I would have hoped for some kind of explaination of what could have happended, or a offer to try again, or a "I would be happy to take your order again.."-something. Have heard they are good, but that rubbed me the wrong way, site forced me to put in my phone number too, that I don't really like giving out-no call either.

I have ordered from Mouser as well with no problem and will use them again if the need arises.

I may give another try, everybody seems to like them, but that sort of thing burns me. Wasted a whole week, plus no reply, etc. There was another on-line place I used 2 years ago, without trouble-just can't remember the name. Anyway thanks.

My Mouser order got here today (UPS) No problem.

I did have a slight problem when i orderd from mouser this time that cost a day delay. They sent me an email saying my CC was denied and call them to straighten it out. So i called them and the sales guy couldn't figure out why it was denied either so i got switched to the girl with the answers. They place a hold of aprox $15.00 above the order total when they run your CC untill they know the correct total to actually bill you. I calculated that i had enough for the order and enough to cover shipping using their shipping charge calculator page. Well the hold amount was way over the actual shipping and i didn't have enough in my checking to cover the debit card purchase.
They lowerd the hold amount and order was processed and shipped.
The phone# i believe is for UPS because it's printed on the shipping label.
Copper does it much the same way, you place your order but they dont have an actual total untill it's boxed and ready to ship. Copper also asks for a phone number and it gets printed on the UPS shipping label.
I have an unlisted# and im on donotcall.gov also and i've never got spammed on the phone by giving copper or mouser my #. If you just refuse to give out a phone# then give them a work#.

Ha.,ha. messed up when that kind of stuff happens! not my case this time (been there) I got close to $1,000 and order was like $11.00 I did use my 111-111-1111 number. I bet whatever happened they tried to call, or rather saw that, and lied about e-mailing me. Been peaking at digi-key. Got cat here someplace, it's a mess just built radio room/shed. lots of stuff moving around. Good to know you have not had any trouble giving number to copper. It's a shame company's mess it up for people and other companys. I pay for unlisted service, and get upset when my number is abused. My cable ISP gives me lots of mail boxes I can change, so I change e-mail's to mess around and can tell real fast when I order something and my e-mail has been sold-man do they get the nasty from me! Tnx for help guys!

Nobodyknows,

Sorry but no Copper does not do it the same way.

The phone number on the UPS Label is for UPS to contact you if there is a problem.

You will also know the Exact total amount of your order to the penny when you call to place your order if you ask.

Or you can make a post to the Customer Service Area here in the forum and they will give you the EXACT total for your order before you even call to place it.

All you will have to include in your post to the Customer Service area is the Name and Part Number of the item you want and if your order will be Pre-Paid or COD and include your postal Zip Code that your order will be sent to just as 100's of other's have done.

And if there is a problem with your order or UPS without your phone number you will never know if there is a problem or why your package has not arrived on time without waiting and making a bunch of phone calls to UPS and Copper to find out the problem.

Lon, I was refering to when you order online, Mouser and Copper don't give you an exact total at that time. It's not untill the order is processed and UPS tracking# is assigned, then the email has the total and tracking#.
Sounds like it's the same to me?
Also it's usually after 4pm central when i'm ready to order stuff and copper's closed, I just order from coppers website and wait for the total in the email. I'm pretty close on knowing what the shipping will be most of the time. It was Mousers "Hold" amount that got me this time tho..
