Hello I have a Magnum S9. I had 11 meters activated on it. I do not think an alignment was done after 11 meters was enabled. Would alignment not peformed for 11 meters operation after coversion affect my recieve?? making it not as sensitive as it could, or make me not able to make out what a very weak station is saying???

thanks,
Cornbrown

Cornbrown,

If you purchased your radio from Copper and you paid for the Option: Expand, align and tune: the Copper Tech aligned your radio to factory specifications and you should have no problem's.

If you purchased it from someone else then you may need your radio aligned.

You need to remember we are at the Bottom of the Sunspot Cycle #23 which effect's all radio signals on all bands and make's it very hard to pull out weak stations on any kind of radio or antenna.

Even if they generally throw you a 9 or 10 S-unit signal the sunspot cycle can ZAP that down to a 1 S-unit signal depending on how far away they are.

And the signal can change INSTANTLY due to condition's and the sunspot cycle!

I have talked with Hank/Vanillagorilla and several other CEF Member's before and had him and other's burying my needle with an S-30 signal and in less than a minute not even get an S-1 signal on him and other's and then they are GONE and the band is DEAD

Or you could have coax or antenna problem's.

Hope this help's,

Lon

Thanks Lon.. I agree with your point about the Sun Spot Cycle. I also have experienced this. My question to you is this... since the S9 is sold as a 10 meter radio. Would'nt the factory alignment specs be for 10 meters, not 11 meters? In the mean time I will check my Coax this weekend.
