A friend of mine runs a Firestik fiberglass ant. with the tuneable tip on his dumptruck, and was asking me some questions. I told him I'd see what answers I could come up with. Question 1-Where does the signal radiate from this ant.? Question 2- How does the location of the feedpoint come in to play on this ant.?

Well I know that the whole antenna radiates with the strongest concenration from the load if its at the top. Not sure if I understand the 2nd question. The feedpoint should be above the vehicle as much as possible. hotwire

How would you get the feedpoint above the vehicle if using a mirror mount?

Well, you would just have to mount it as high as possible on the mirror mount. Its not critical that you mount it that way. The antenna will still perform well. The reason for having it above the vehicle is so that none of the antennas radiating signal is blocked by the metal vehicle.
