I was considering going with a 75-100 foot run of RG213 coax from Copper. But Suzanne has informed me that Copper , does not have any RG213 and don't know when they'll be getting any, also the there will be a price increase. She recommended the RG8U coax. Is there a major difference between this and the RG213 on a 75 to 100 foot run? |

the rg213 has a lower loss then rg-8.with the run of 75ft.or more id recommend getting belden9913 or lmr400 just my opion here |

No! Do not buy RG8U coax as it is now considered
a inferior standard as it is no longer recommended to use. Unless they are making a more up-to-date better RG8U then they were. Wait until you can purchase at least the RG213. |

Agreed, Wait for rg213 or get it somewhere else. Since I tried rg213 in the mobile thats the minimum I would ever use for any install. Now if you got the money then the 9913 type coaxs are byfar the best around. A few different high qaulity brands to choose from. |

guess that settles it, i'll hold out for the RG213, maybe copper will have some soon.. |

9913 all the way (or the cable Xperts equivelant). Double shielded, high power rating, and there is a flexible version, same thickness as RG8, Low loss, and reasonably priced. |

definatly go with the flex if you get the 9913.the Belden 9913 I use for 6 and 2 meter is stiff enough to be a royal pain in the tail to work with sometimes!try pulling 2 through a small sweep 2" conduit ell

Do a search for 9913F7, it is foam dialectric and flexible + low loss and it says it dont get water in it like the older air dialectric 9913.

Currently I'm running a 50 foot run of Elkin RG8u, and was just wondering what would be a good replacement. Without getting to deep in the pockets. |

How does this rate up against the RG8u?? I'm kinda new to the whole coax thing. It's always just been plug n play for me. |

852 thats a good coax and a GOOD price .......
I use a LMR-400 coax on uhf and it AN'T cheep but not any better at 27 mhz ...... |

The manufacturer and the price per foot.
Both meet the same specs and both are RG8 Foam Coax.
The Superflex is advertised as: Super flex-life cable (4 million flexes).
Sorry, I never sat down and tried to flex it 4 MILLION TIMES to see if that is true or not.
And personally I will not spend almost double the money for it when our coax is only FLEXED 1 time when we install it from the antennas into the house and to the radio's.
And we have been stocking the same Coax Copper carries for over 20 years now with NO Problem's and NO compliant's from our customer's.

So If i'm reading this correct, RG8 is suitable coax for 11 meter use. |
