spkr good, rx signal good,has rx audio only when ground lug on speaker is jumpered with wire to power plug ground, but then has talkback that I don't want. could there be a cap blown somewhere?
Any help appreciated.

What happens with an external speaker? Are you sure the speaker "-" is grounded at the board?
Sorry for the stupid questions but sometimes its the obvious that gets overlooked :-)
