29 ltd good tx&mod. but no rx at all.no audio in pa mode. this is a stock unit w/no mods done.

First be sure its not the mic. If you are positive that you have normal transmit then it should be simple. Check the RF meter. Are signals present? If so it could possibly a broken wire on the Ext. speaker jack or faulty jack period.Maybe a bad speaker. Check for loose wires back there inside the radio. If that is not the problem its possible that the audio output transistor or IC has shorted out or went bad. Usually when this happens both recieve and transmit is affected. Check to make sure that your modulation is not weak although its there. From your desciption I would put my money on the bad ext speaker jack. good luck

Sounds like the audio IC. About 6 bucks. Easy to change. Make sure you put it back in the right way. Letters/markings go towards the OUTSIDE of the radio, so you can not see them when it is installed. (don't ask!) Hope this helps. Bill
