Everything works great except fm. I get great reports on am, on fm dead keys 9 or 10 watts on radio meter with no swing at all. Me and a friend tried fm, he could hear me but I couldn't hear him. If this is indeed something wrong with my S9 will it eventually affect my am and usb and lsb or will it just be my fm? I don't want to take radio out and send in for repairs if am will continue to work good. It is all I talk on anyways. Thanks

that's it on FM, there will be no swing. how well did he hear you? how far apart are you? maybe the problem is with HIS transmit? maybe he doesn't have enough output(power) to be 'full silencing'/just plain get through....

not sure what HE is using, hawkeye, but 30 miles, big mountains, & not much power on FM could make it difficult for you to have any of his signal get past the 'static' or 'break the squelch' (whichever way you were listening).

you may wanna try listening to another radio (closer to you, or a mobile) while on FM just to make sure....but i think things are good.

I'm thinking about ordering an S-9 off of Copper. Is the S-9 a good choice?
