If there is one thing I disliked about the 3300, it's the loss of the memory channels when you turn the power supply off. (not the radio, but the power supply) If I keep the power supply on, then the radio's memory holds. I bet there is some fix for keeping it when you turn the power supply off. So what can I do? |

I "thought" there was an internal battery for that? Remember reading a article on that SOMEWHERE!
Just tried mine Mike. The memory stays after the PS is shut down. Your not shutting the squelch till it clicks right? That erases memory.
Look into that internal memory battery thing.
Hopefully SOMEONE with more info on this will chime in.
I only entered 2 freqs in memory and when the squelch is set it bounces between the first and second freq till something breaks the squelch.
Oh those little red LEDs flashing just give me goosepimples like a schoolgirl!
Do you have the owners man for that? If not let me know and I'll copy mine for you. |

Hey Soda...I have to apologize. Shut down the PS for 5min to check on your original question.
After I did that I thought maybe I ought to try it a bit longer so I shut it down and went out to work on my tower base. Came back in 2hrs later and turned it back on....memory Gone....Halzimers? |

Hank and Michael,
The ar-3300 and 3500 both need an internal battery to retain the presets.otherwise you would have to leave the power supply turned on and turn off the radio when not in use.pull the bottom cover and see if there is a snap for a 9 volt battery.If there is it would depend on how it was installed as to wether you would use a ni-cad or alkaline battery.if not,e-mail me and I will send you the info on how to install either.

Tech291 - thanks for the offer. VG sent the info to me. For now I think I will leave it as is. That sounds like a good winter time project to me! |
