I have seen this done in photos but how high above the flat side yagi does the maco need to be over this when mounted above it to prevent any problems. |

8-9 ft above beam. Never personally tried
it though. |

Cdrive,
Go to the:Members Pictures area of the Copper Forum and scroll down until you see: Tech291 and you will see a picture of Dennis / Tech291's Maco where he added a piece of 3' 1" galv so his Maco V58 could go on top of his beams.
If you have any Question's just submit a post to Tech291 and I am sure he will be happy to answer any questions you might have.

NOTE!
I just got off the phone with ****** from MACO and he did not recommend using the MACO 5/8 or MACO V-5/8 due to the possibility of the ground plane radials of the 5/8 or V-5/8 interfering with the Horizontal Element's of your beams.
However with Antennas like the A99 and IMAX 2000 (without the GP Kit) this would not be a problem.

Nice reponse people thank you!
I suspected the ground radials may be an issue and I had seen that photo so I posted the question.
I was just "Hoping" to get away with the maco 5/8

what if you have a GPK on your IMAX and your using M104 beams, how high would you need to be above the M104, the M104 will be installed flat.

If you remove the ground planes from the V-5/8 and mount it as close to the horizontal beam as possible, then it would work very well. |

Tech833, are you saying just leave enough room above the beams to clamp on the plate for the imax? this would allow the beams to act as the GP radials for the omni? |
