--Hi, all. I just got in my new Galaxy FC390 frequency counter, but it does not show the correct frequency. I am using it with a Cobra 150 GTL DX. When the frequency counter is plugged in the radio (the radio is on channel 8 for example) it shows a frequency of 8.5600. I had another frequency counter lying around, so I decided to plug it in to see what it reads, and it also shows 8.5600--and that frequency counter is also a Galaxy (model FC148). So, is something wrong with the radio or the two frequency counters? Does some wire need to be reversed? I was really hoping to have a cool display for my Cobra 150 (nice radio, believe it or not). Thanks for any help.

--Ugh, it doesn't matter now, haha. I was getting reports on audio that was cutting out, muffled sounding and distorted. So, I got another 4 pin microphone to test with it, and the radio kept doing the same thing. Then I noticed the antenna warning light came on, even though the SWR was good (as verified by Cobra 150 internal SWR meter, the internal SWR meter on a Cobra 2000, and finally an external Autek WM1 SWR/Wattmeter).

--So, I called Cobra and they gave me an address where I could send the radio for repair since it is under warranty. It's a shame that my new radio has already quit on me. The people at Cobra were nice, though, and the radio has a 2 year warranty. Hopefully, after I get it back, it won't quit on me anymore.

P.S.
Neither the Galaxy FC148 nor the Galaxy FC390 frequency counters work properly with this radio, with both displaying such frequencies as 8.5600 Mhz. Since the same frequency shows up on both counters, it is probably the fault of the Cobra 150 GTL DX.

--Well, I got my Cobra 150 GTL DX back from the Cobra authorized warranty repair center in Tennessee, and it works great.

--Anyway, does anyone know why my two frequency counters do not show the correct frequency with the Cobra 150 GTL DX? I have both the Galaxy FC148 and FC390 frequency counter. BOTH of them display a proper frequency on my Uniden Madison. However, when I plug them into the back of the Cobra 150 GTL DX, it shows a frequency of 8.560. Is something wrong with the radio, or is there some sort of internal modification I should do to the frequency counters to show the proper frequency? Thanks.

P.S.
Does anyone that owns this radio use an FC148 or FC390 freq. counter?
