Hi there CB radio gurus. I need your help.

I have scoured the Copper website for this with no luck, so I bring this to you.

Years ago, I remember a product that would connect between the AM/FM radio in your car and its antenna which would allow you to use the fender mounted factory AM/FM antenna with your CB radio as well as the AM/FM. If I remember correctly, it also had some sort of tuning capability to tune the antenna for minimum SWR on the CB. This did not affect the AM.FM reception in any way. This was a small tin box with a female Motorola connector where the AM/FM antenna plugs in, a Motorola male on a pigtail which plugs in to the AM/FM radio, and a UHF male on a pigtail for the CB radio.

Now, first question- Does anybody still make these?
Second, If so, who?

Assuming the answer to question #1 is 'no', then-
Third, Does anybody have any idea where I could find one?

Thank you in advance.

My guest is that you use a cobra 75 WX because you can't fit a REAL FULL SIZE RADIO IN YOUR RADIO FRIENDLY VEHICLE! (Try a MAGNUM OR A GRANT XL and a WILSON 5000)They will preform alot better. (SOUNDS DUMB LIKE THE JEEP COMMENT DOESN'T IT?)

Ha ha!! Thanks for the comment, Spring.

No, this is for a very stealth installation and only needs to have a range of a few hundred feet for trail riding and rock crawling. Most important issue- stealth!

It looks to me like that uses the CB for the AM/FM not the AM/FM for CB?

OR is there a SO239 ---> motorola female adaptor included?

Your package showed up late yesterday, Lon. THANK YOU!

It is exactly what I needed!!

The unit pictured above looks like the Firestik unit that allows using your existing tuned CB antenna for your AM/FM radio or scanner. I need to use the factory installed untuned AM/FM antenna for short range CB communications. The unit you sent me is it.

Of course, the unit pictured above would come in real handy at my base station to split the HF antenna off to the scanner for lowband scanning.

I used to love those adaptors. Yes they do use the am/fm antenna for the cb and work really well for what it is. Get a few miles range. Not a DX machine but perfect on the road for safety and traffic info. I had so much fun with mine. No offense to truck drivers but back then when a trucker would do a bonehead manuever or just drive bad I would get on my digguised radio, give then a good scolding and the look on their face was priceless! Did get the bird a few times but hey I had a blast!
